What Cairn Cover is
Cairn Cover is an independent publication that explains insurance. Each guide covers one topic in one country, because the rules, the regulators and the way cover works differ between the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
A cairn is a stack of stones that marks a path across open ground. We aim to do the same for insurance: show the route, and make the small print easier to read.
What we publish
- Guides to each type of cover, such as liability, property, motor, health and travel insurance.
- Guides for trades and professions, covering the cover that usually matters in each line of work.
- Comparisons, cost explainers and checklists of what to ask before you buy.
What we do not do
We do not sell insurance, arrange cover, handle claims or give personal advice. If you need advice about your own situation, speak to a licensed broker or adviser in your country. Read our disclaimer.
The Cairn Cover Team
Every guide on this site is published by the Cairn Cover Team rather than under an individual name. The team works in three roles: researchers who gather sources and draft, editors who check facts and plain language, and specialist reviewers who sign off guides on sensitive topics such as health and life insurance. We publish this way so that accountability sits with the publication and every guide follows the same process.
Read how this works in our editorial policy and our fact-check and review process.
